Planning & Development
Planning and development in the Town of Fairfield is guided by the adopted municipal Comprehensive Plan, which influences town policies related to development including the Land Use and Subdivision Ordinances. These ordinances are periodically reviewed by the Planning Board and updated as necessary by the Town Council.
The Code Enforcement Office is responsible for site plan review, permitting, and inspecting Residential, Commercial, and Industrial development activities, in addition to enforcing zoning and code regulations.
The Town of Fairfield also has an Economic and Community Development Committee that oversees certain planning activities and projects, including Downtown/Riverfront Development, Beautification and Cultural Amenities, and Commercial/Industrial Development.
