Hunting & Fishing Licenses
The Fairfield Town Office is an agent for the State of Maine Inland Fisheries & Wildlife Department and may issue hunting and fishing licenses. You may purchase your license at the front counter of the Town Office during our regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by mail if you send a copy of your current license and the appropriate fee. You may also purchase your license by utilizing the State of Maine's online services.

Statute Excerpt: MRSA Title 12: CONSERVATION, Part 13: INLAND FISHERIES AND WILDLIFE, Subpart 1: GENERAL, DEFINITIONS, Chapter 901: DEFINITIONS, 10001. Definitions
53. Resident. "Resident" means a citizen of
the United States or an alien who has been domiciled in the State for one year
who:
A. If registered to
vote, is registered in this State; and
B. If licensed to
drive a motor vehicle, has made application for or possesses a motor vehicle
operator's license issued by the State; and
C. If owning a motor
vehicle located within the State, has registered each such vehicle in the
State; and
D. Is in compliance
with the state income tax laws.
A person who is a
full-time student at a college or university in the State and has satisfied the
requirements of paragraphs A to D is rebuttably presumed to be a resident in
the State during that period.
